Mountain of Colors Ausangate 1 day

The road to Ausangate is one of the most amazing experiences you can have, enjoying the landscape and being accompanied by native birds and animals all along the way is a unique and comfortable sensation. Cerro colorado or mountain of colors is a new tourist attraction that is located in the town of Canchis, its own name that local people use to locate their territory (vinicunca) due to the beautiful views of colors that this landscape offers us since the tonality of The colors are set by the weather at the moment, when it is cloudy its colors will be dimmer or darker and if the day is very sunny it will be lighter in color. During our journey we will have the opportunity to appreciate the 7 varieties of South American camelids (alpaca , alpaca, suri, …) on a good day we will be able to observe the largest birds in the world, the Condor, where they live. This tour is organized for passengers who are in good physical condition to be able to do an 8-hour trek, 4 of up and 4 down, average walk 40-70.

Itinerary

DAY 1
We pick up passengers from their respective hotels at 4:00 a.m., and then begin our 3-hour trip towards the foothills of the snow-capped Ausangate. Once we arrive in Pitumarca, we will stop to have a delicious breakfast, Then we will continue along an alternate road that is not paved but is in good condition until we reach the Quesoyoni sector. Up to this point the vehicle will accompany us. Our guide in charge will give us a short introduction about the area and the last reaches to finally begin our walk which will be approximately 7 hours, approximately 3 and a half hours up and 3 and a half hours back. During the journey we will have the opportunity to see the different varieties of South American camelinos, a spectacular view of the area due to its whimsically shaped geography, we will have impressive views as if they had been painted by hand and brush. At this point we will be approximately one hour away and then we will begin our descent towards Quesoyoni where our delicious lunch will be waiting for us and from there we will board our transportation to return to Cusco at approximately 7:00 p.m.
